Erendira Camarena

Erendira CamarenaMy name is Erendira Camarena, I am 17 years old and was born on March 22, 1991. I was born and raised in South Los Angeles. I am the second youngest daughter of a single mother of seven children. With a community filled with violence, I have managed to be on the top percentile of my class and am currently a senior at Santee Educational Complex High School. Due to the violence in our community my mother has become an advocate for our community and I as well have been involved in community beautification, peace walks and other volunteer work. I also work closely with many of the members from the CPAB (Community Police Advisory Board) for Newton Area, and I also work closely with Council Woman Jan Perry from District #9.

In addition, I am involved with my local church (Bethel Church of Christ) where I am the secretary of the youth group and also head of the choir group. I am a devoted Christian and my faith and knowledge of God has made me a better person and daughter. I currently have been employed for North American Security (NAS) for over a year. During my time with NAS, I have been exposed to numerous growth experiences. I have become efficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and time keeping. Working as an administrative assistant has helped my public relations and technical skills, and helped me to be a team player. The owners of NAS have also helped me throughout my senior year by financially supporting me with my education and also my family.
